A true favorite of mine (Griffiths)

Elly Griffith’s Ruth Galloway series is up to its ninth book. I have been reading about Ruth from the very first novel and have fallen in love with this bright, flawed, human and quirky scholar of bones and archaeology. Each book gives the reader a chance to catch up with Cathbad, a Druid; Nelson, a DCI and his wife Michelle, along with Judy, Clough, Kate and many others in the academic, police and local world of Norfolk. The books are best read in order for full enjoyment. Start with The Crossing Places and come up for air after you spend time underground in the latest, The Chalk Pit. A favorite series of mine!

The next book in this series comes out in May. I am re-posting this to let you know how great the Ruth Galloway novels are!

Totally agree! I adore this series! It is not well-known in Australia but I always highly recommend it because there’s something for everyone. As you said, read in order for maximum enjoyment. Cathbad is my favourite character! At the moment I have finished book 5 so I’m really looking forward to the others in this series. Book 10 is The Dark Angel (Ruth travels to Italy) and Book 11 The Stone Circle is coming next year 🙂

I have The Dark Angel from NetGalley and both can’t wait to read it and don’t want to read it because then I will have to again wait for the next one. Let me know how you get on as you continue to read the books.
