I first read The Forsyte Saga when I was in eleventh grade. I knew that it was one of my mom’s favorite books and I was curious. It took me just a moment before I became deeply immersed in the lives of this family. Since then, I have reread the novels (nine in all) that make up the series more than once. I especially have returned to the first trilogy; this is what is adapted for the stage in this title.

I wish that I was in London so that I could spend the multiple hours in the theater to see this script performed. Since I cannot, reading this allowed me to visualize and imagine it. I so enjoyed everything!

This title is perhaps most likely to be enjoyed by those with some familiarity with the story. However, I think that anyone can quickly pick up on the stories of the characters, the material focus of the Forsytes (money, money, money) and the relationships and triangles in some complicated relationships. It all remindsme of why I have loved Galsworthy’s novels.

In addition to the script, this title includes additional information about the production, the actors and more. Theater buffs will I think enjoy this attention to the details of the production.

Highly recommended to Forsyte lovers or those who may become one.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Aurora Metro for this title. All opinions are my own.

I love to read, recommend books and open the world of reading to others. I tutor to ensure that the next generation of readers will know the joys of a good book because their reading skills have improved. I am an avid reader, especially of mysteries and fiction. I believe that two of the world's greatest inventions were the public library and eyeglasses!
