I love to read, recommend books and open the world of reading to others. I tutor to ensure that the next generation of readers will know the joys of a good book because their reading skills have improved. I am an avid reader, especially of mysteries and fiction. I believe that two of the world's greatest inventions were the public library and eyeglasses!
I think that this book flew under the radar but it is deserving of attention for those who enjoy mystery and suspense stories. The protagonist is a reporter who endeavors to serve journalism well-a perfect message for our times.
This is the fifth story to feature Clare and what a story she has to cover. Seemingly perfect and ambitious, a college student, Riley, has been murdered. A war vet is suspected but there are others who ought to be including the men in whom Riley was interested. They are a police official and a man with ties to the underworld.
Will Riley get to file her story? Will the case be solved? I recommend reading this title to find out.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Oceanview Publishing for this title. All opinions are my own.
This book does exactly what it sets out to do. It will absolutely familiarize students with the format and content of the exam.
The book begins with a very helpful introduction that is packed with information about the GRE. There are many suggestions here for preparing oneself to take the test, along with a description of the mechanics of taking the exam on the computer. Next come the six sample tests. Students can review their answers and hopefully learn where they need to concentrate their attention.
This publisher is releasing a number of titles that will be helpful to those who are thinking about grad school. I definitely recommend this for its intended audience.

Do you need a bit of cheering up? Maybe a reason to smile? Do you like cats…or not? Whoever you may be, you might find Ms. Belton’s Pusheen as cute, funny and charming as I do. Here is a generous collection featuring Pusheen and her friends. They definitely brightened up my day. I will reread this one whenever needed.

This yearly anthology always offers some good reads. A wide range of publications are included as are a number of categories. So, from the New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, Harper’s, AARP and more as sources. Just two of the writers are Ann Patchett and Kareem Abdul-Jabaar. An example of a category is Winner-Essays and Criticism or Finalist-Service Journalism. Dip in and out as one wishes. Always walk away having read something interesting and worthwhile.

He is best known for his delightful tails about Madeline. Anyone who recalls those stories with fondness may enjoy spending time with the author in this amusing title. Included here are fifteen chapters about life at a fictional hotel that is based upon the New York Ritz. Relax, travel back in time to the 1920s and enjoy this memoir of a bygone time.

The Dhammapada is a collection of sayings from the Buddha. There is so much wisdom to be found within these pages. The book includes a section written by the translator and an information packed introduction. Then come the sayings; each of them is worth a ponder.
Highly recommended for those who are looking for insight from one of the world’s greatest thinkers.
Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this title. All opinions are my own.
Poisoned Pen Press is one of my favorites. They just keep publishing good cozy mysteries (as well as titles of classic mysteries from the British Library). I always look forward to sitting down with one of their novels.
This book is the second in a series. A third entry will be published in spring 2023. Here Tess and her daughter are trying to open a bookshop in their community. Of course, things do not go according to plan. They find bones and need to learn whose they are, how they got there and why. Who was responsible? Worst of all, some suspect Tess’s family member.
Trust that all will be solved and that the process will be enjoyable for readers. I loved that Tess was an author and that a bookstore was viewed as important to a community. Since, I have not yet read the first book, I also enjoyed getting to know Sheriff Boyd.
