Our current time can be rather divisive and polarizing. Do we want to teach our kids that others are different from us …or do we want to encourage inclusiveness? I know my answer. If you agree, take a look at this kids book. It focuses on the ways in which children from around the world are alike. The author frames this in terms of our common needs. These include feeling loved and protected, having shelter, being educated, and eating.
The book opens with asking a child to remember their first word. It goes on to show illustrations of kids from around the world who share their own first words and tell the reader what their choice mean in English. Each of the following sections similarly point out what children have in coomon. The takeaway is that things that may seem so different really are not.
This book could be a good resource for preschools. It also may belong on your home bookshelf.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Owlkids Books for this title. All opinions are my own.

This short novel introduces Inspector John Crow. To date, there have been seven subsequent titles in the series.
This is an old fashioned mystery. There are no cell phones, IMs or computers, just the solving of the case.
Peter Marlin is in trouble. He is married to Jeannette who recently returned after an unexplained absence from home. During the time that she was away, Peter found a new relationship. Unfortunately for him, his wife is murdered and he looks pretty guilty.
Readers will enjoy trying to solve this case that is set in the 1960s. Can they figure everything out before the ethical Inspector Crow?

When I was young, I could worry. A book like this one would have been incredibly helpful. I highly recommend it as a resource for kids and their adults. It will help children to understand what they are experiencing when they worry about their health and will offer them help in coping. Kids will learn why they feel these panicky alarms and how to deal with them in four helpful steps.
There are additional sections in the book to help adults in taking with children about this book. In addition, there is a resource section included.
