I love to read, recommend books and open the world of reading to others. I tutor to ensure that the next generation of readers will know the joys of a good book because their reading skills have improved. I am an avid reader, especially of mysteries and fiction. I believe that two of the world's greatest inventions were the public library and eyeglasses!
This is such a sweet book! The animal illustrations are cheerful and gently appealing. The text itself celebrates friendship in a way that both children and adults could benefit from remembering. Read this one with a child you know. Both you and they will embrace its important, loving message.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
What does it mean to be brave? Young listeners will learn that being brave doesn’t mean not being afraid. It means trying despite this and accepting that mistakes are an important part of life. Children find that it is more than okay to learn from what goes wrong. This is how we grow. The lesson is brought home through the adorable animal characters who try things out in these pages.
The message of this sweetly illustrated book is a good one for adults as well! So…enjoy this title with a young person in your life.

Farewell My Herring is the ninth entry in L.C. Tyler’s series but the first of the novels that I have read. It is a quick and easy read, perfect for a reader who wants some light distraction.
The plot is classic with people marooned by a snowstorm and a murder taking place. The main characters are a writer and Elsie who is scouting for new talent. With the storm and no phone, the stakes are high. Ethelred and Elsie have their work cut out for them!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title with its appealing cover. All opinions are my own.
An Unofficial Cookbook for Fans of Bridgerton—75 Sinfully Delectable Recipes
by Dahlia Clearwater
Pub Date 22 Jun 2021
I admit that I have only watched part of one episode of Bridgerton, the series that everyone seems to be raving about. I may go back and watch more. In the meantime though, I will enjoy some of the scrumptious recipes that are in this book. I am enough of an Anglophile to know that there is no time like teatime, so I am eager to sample some of these treats.
This title is broken into chapters on canapes; scones and spreads; teatime sweets; dinner party fare; and Regency Cocktails. So many things look delicious but I admit that I especially love scones so that was my favorite section.
The recipes are varied and look easy to follow. So if you are an Anglophile and.or Bridgerton fan, this book is for you!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Who doesn’t enjoy a good story about twins? Readers can tell that sisters Rose and Fern are quite intertwined just from their names. They grew up in Australia where each experienced parental abuse. How has this impacted Fern and Rose? What will happen when Fern wants to get pregnant to give her sister Rose the baby that Rose cannot have? Domestic suspense readers know that a lot will transpire in this novel told by unreliable narrators. If this is your cup of tea, definitely worth it.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.
This book’s chapters include: Things to Do Outdoors; Green Spaces; Museums; Galleries; Performing Arts’ Building and Built Spaces; and Seasonal London. All in all, 100 suggestions are contained in these pages.
To give an idea of the riches to be found within, the first section of the book has entries on Mudchute City Farm, Playgrounds, The Gardens at 120 and many more. Each entry is short and accompanied by photos.
I adore this book. Readers will get so many ideas of things to do on their next trip. I cannot wait!
