Sammy has inherited a shop from Kate who reportedly died in an accident. Was it one? And, why would author, Jane, be found dead clutching a book about Kate? Sammy wants to know and so will the reader. Enjoy as Kate, her sister and her cousin who make up S.H.E. detectives solve the case.

What will happen: Before I Sleep by Cynthia Harrod Eagles

It has been a while since I have read a Bill Slider mystery. Now, I am going to catch up on all the ones that I missed. I simply found Before I Sleep to be such an enjoyable read. There is an interesting plot, a range of characters and settings and, of course, the author’s puns and sense of humor. All of these elements combine for a most delightful read.

What happened to Felicity when she did not return home? Was it a voluntary leaving or has something sinister happened? What is the role/opinion of her rather dull, author husband? Of her sister? Her father? Of others around her? Did something happen in the woods? Elsewhere? I recommend that readers pick up this title in order to find out more.

There has been a: Murder by the Sea

This is the third in the Murder by the Sea series. It can be read without having knowledge of the first two novels although readers who enjoy this book will probably want to spend time with all of the titles. There are currently five in all.

This story is set in an appealing Florida community. Liz is enjoying being there with members of her family and at the hotel that the family owns. She plans to attend a masquerade ball on New Year’s Eve. Bad decision as someone from her past that she does not want to see is there. Events escalate from there.

This is a short cozy mystery that will be enjoyed by its target audience. There are likeable characters and a good plot.
