Peril & Prayer (Matthews)

This is the second in the cozy mystery series that follows Sister Lou, her colleagues, nephew and friends.  In this one, the congregation is planning a retreat in order to get into the proper frame of mind for Christmas.  The site is selected when the owner of the resort is murdered.  There are numerous suspects, police who could use help (although they don’t think so) and a desire to clear the congregation and the college they support of suspicion.  This is very much a domestic mystery, as you can tell from the cover.  There is little violence and all, of course, is resolved.  For those who like to know that there will not be too much blood or gore, this may be a good series to try.

I love to read, recommend books and open the world of reading to others. I tutor to ensure that the next generation of readers will know the joys of a good book because their reading skills have improved. I am an avid reader, especially of mysteries and fiction. I believe that two of the world's greatest inventions were the public library and eyeglasses!
