A trip for children: Meet Me at the Farmers Market by Pelto with illustrations by Wallace

When children are little, simple excursions are often quite enjoyable. In this read-aloud, children will get to experience the fun of a visit to some farmers’ markets. At the ones that Sophia goes to, there is lots of activity. There are friends to see, foods to eat, pets to enjoy and market goods to bring home. All of this is shown with both words and text.

The illustrations in this book are bright and cheerful. The text is simple. This is a pleasant short book that young children will enjoy.

  1. I love farmer’s markets! You get to meet people who make all their own things and just learn a bit about farmers and artists. I have several famer’s markets near me and they are so fun to go to! This book looks really interesting! Thank you for sharing.

  2. Thank you for the review! We are translating into Spanish too. I worked with kids from families who frequent the farmers market to listen to what they love about their farmers markets. It was very fun to see their responses from different parts of the country. I also talked to teachers of young children about the words I used, the simplicity of the overall theme, and when they start talking about where food comes from. Again thank you so much for your review. I truly appreciate your sharing! I welcome your thoughts and ideas as we publish more books going forward!
