Picture Books

My children’s lit professor asked each student to bring in a picture book today and tell what made it meaningful.  This led me to think about some of my favorites.  I hope that you will enjoy seeing them!

I love to read, recommend books and open the world of reading to others. I tutor to ensure that the next generation of readers will know the joys of a good book because their reading skills have improved. I am an avid reader, especially of mysteries and fiction. I believe that two of the world's greatest inventions were the public library and eyeglasses!

  1. Blueberries for Sal was one of my favorites as a child, mostly because I related to the main characters (I loved eating blueberries). Most of these I remember reading growing up, especially Madeline. That is an amazing book for any age!

  2. Madeline was my favourite too. In my family Rosie’s Walk by Pat Hutchins was a perennial favourite. In my library career I have read to many, many children over the years and found that you have to enjoy the picture book yourself to make it enjoyable for children.
