Pencils (and brain cells) at the ready: Alice in Wonderland Puzzles

With Original Illustrations by Sir John Tenniel

by Dr Gareth Moore

This book has a cheerful cover that will lead readers to remember this beloved children’s book. Don’t be fooled though; the puzzles inside are for adults or older kids, probably those who have at least taken Algebra. I found most of the brainteasers to be quite challenging. There are many math puzzles, along with other kinds to solve. All will test a reader’s skills.

Throughout this title, there are excerpts and illustrations from the original story. So, readers will of course see Alice, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the White Rabbit and others.

One thing that would have improved this book, in my opinion, would have been to give more explanations with the answers. The math problems give the numerical answer but that alone will not help stumped readers to understand the logic of the solution.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This title will be published on 01 Mar 2022

I love to read, recommend books and open the world of reading to others. I tutor to ensure that the next generation of readers will know the joys of a good book because their reading skills have improved. I am an avid reader, especially of mysteries and fiction. I believe that two of the world's greatest inventions were the public library and eyeglasses!
